General description
(±)-α-Tocopherol is a racemic mixture of α-tocopherol which is also known as vitamin E. It is a lipid-soluble antioxidant found in whole grains, nuts, andoils. It is known to scavenge reactive oxygen species by interacting with lipids duringoxidative stress.(±)-α-Tocopherol-(trimethyl-13C3phenyl) is an isotope of vitamin E wherein all the three methyl carbons attached to the phenyl ring are replaced by 13C6 carbon.
