- Known limitations:
- Do not reuse: single use device that is not suitable for re-work or reuse
- For use on one patient only, once opened, must be used aseptically and discard any swabs left over
- Due to the composition of the shaft material, the product is not recommended for patient use where shaft flexibility is a necessity/required
- Certain viruses and microorganisms are sensitive to cotton and may be stressed or not even recover
- Do not use if the outer packaging or seal shows signs of damage or incomplete
- Do not use if there is no product identification or LOT number present on pouch
- Do not use if LOT number is illegible or device is past expiry date
- Do not use if swab bud or shaft appears damaged or broken
- Applying excessive pressure during use may lead to failure of the shaft
