Application

Poly-L-arginine hydrochloride has been used:as polyelectrolyte solution in the synthesis of biodegradable capsulesas layer constituent, in the preparation of layer by layer (LbL) assembly of multilayer biodegradable shellsin assay for the determination of binding activity of C-reactive protein for polycationic ligands

Biochem/physiol Actions

Poly-L-arginine (PLA) possesses anti-bacterial activity. It has a greater capacity to enhance membrane permeability. PLA at lower concentration enhances cell proliferation and at higher concentration acts as antiproliferative agent.
