Biochem/physiol Actions
The protein encoded by CHP2 (calcineurin like EF-hand protein 2) gene serves as an important cofactor of Na+/H+ exchanger isoform 1 and maintains high intracellular pH in cancer cells. CHP2 protects cells from dying due to serum deprivation. Overexpression of the gene is observed in ovarian cancer and it is involved in the growth, proliferation, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells.

General description
Anti-CHP2 antibody detects endogenous levels of total CHP2 protein.
The CHP2 (calcineurin like EF-hand protein 2) gene is mapped to human chromosome 16p12.2. It encodes a 23kDa protein containing myristoylation site at its N-terminal and four EF-hand Ca2+ binding motifs. The gene is predominantly expressed in small intestine and cancer cells.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CHP2.Immunogen Range: 101-150
Physical form
Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
