Biochem/physiol Actions
Fc fragment of IgG receptor Ia (FCGR1A) functions as the single high-affinity receptor of immunoglobulin G (IgG) in humans. It also regulates immune inflammation. FCGR1A acts as a diagnostic marker for bacterial infections, such as neonatal sepsis. FCGR1A is an important biomarker for rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
General description
Fc fragment of IgG receptor Ia (FCGR1A) gene encodes a protein that plays an important role in the immune response. This protein is a high-affinity Fc-gamma receptor. The gene is one of three related gene family members located on chromosome 1. (provided by RefSeq). Fc fragment of IgG receptor Ia (FCGR1A) gene is located on human chromosome 1q21.2. FCGR1A is expressed on monocytes and macrophages.
