General description

Myb-binding protein 1A (MYBBP1A) interacts with sequence specific DNA-binding proteins in order to activate or repress transcription. Transcriptional repression via Myb-binding protein 1A is thought to be mediated by histone deacetylase activity (HDAC activity).

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human Myb Binding Protein 1A.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in A431 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analyis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Myb Binding Protein 1A in 10 µg of A431 cell lysate.

Specificity

This antibody detects the full length and cleaved forms of Myb Binding Protein 1A.

Target description

~160 kDa observed. Uncharacterized band(s) may be observed in some cell lysates. The full length of this protein is observed at ~160 kDa; however, it is proteolytically cleaved into ~140 kDa and ~67 kDa fragments (Hochstatter, J., et al. (2012).
