C10 Ceramide (d18:1/10:0) or N-decanoyl-D-erythro-sphingosine has been used: as an internal standard in galactocerebrosidase (GALC) assay to study its role on the physical properties of edible organogels and on their ability to induce cell death of various cancer cell lines to study its mixing behavior with other ceramides having the same sphingosine base but varying N-linked acyl chain length

Ceramides modulate stress responses and inflammation. It also controls cell differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis.

General description

C10 Ceramide (d18:1/10:0) is a synthetic ceramide containing sphingosine with decanoic acid. It has a short acyl chain length than sphingosine acyl chain.
