Loss on Drying (LOD) USP 731 proficiency testing material is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. The PT portfolio allows our test components to offer significant performance data to monitor and prove competency to customers, accreditation bodies or both.Supelco® Pharmaceutical Proficiency Testing scheme is mainly designed to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical industry.The pharma PT samples allow laboratories to demonstrate their competence in following compendial USP methods of analysis. They can be used to assure accreditors or auditors that the lab processes are followed accordingly. Preparation Note
Description Dry a glass-stoppered, shallow weighing bottle for 30 min under the same conditions as designated for the sample. Tare the stoppered bottle. Add the test specimen, in the approximate designated amount, to the bottle and accurately weigh. Spread the sample as evenly as is practical in the weighing bottle. Place the bottle in the drying chamber and remove the stopper leaving it in the drying chamber. Dry the sample according to the conditions stated. For heated samples, cool in a desiccator. Weigh the stoppered bottle containing the sample. Calculate the % loss.Sample Description Conditions: 105 °C for 3 hours Approx Wt.: 0.5 - 1g Expected Range: 0 to 50%
