Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) Broth with TTC is used to enumerate heterotrophic organisms at incubation temperatures of 35°C. All aerobic bacteria that develop on HPC with TTC media produce a red colour as a result of the precipitation of formazan following the reduction of 2,3,5- triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) by bacteria.
