Activates protein kinase C in hepatocytes.

Uncouples oxidative phosphorylation. Inhibits 2,4-dinitrophenol−stimulated ATPase. Action reversed by adding serum albumin.

General description

Oleic acid is found to be an important component of olive oil, which can help in the regulation of many biological processes. It acts as a penetration enhancer by increasing lipid fluidity thereby increasing the skin permeability.
