Toggle valve may be used in GC to describe a system which could eliminate the use of mechanical valves in the oven and could be easily added to the existing chromatographs.
General description
Toggle valve on and off settings determines whether or not fluid flows past the valve. Well-designed toggle valve should possess the quality that it hinders flow completely when closed while allowing nearly unaffected flow when open. Main goal of a toddle valve is to minimize the effect of pressure when in open position.
