Phenazepam, a benzodiazepine drug produced in Russia, is used in Europe as an anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, and muscle relaxant. Cases of abuse have been reported from European countries such as Sweden and Russia to states including New York, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Georgia.
