Cited for extremely wide-ranging therapeutic effects, including prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulceration, regulation of immunologic cascades, inhibition of platelet-activating factor (PAF), treatment of ethanol- and acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity and hepatitis, and stimulation of cartilage repair after injury.
