General description

ERBB2 (erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2) is a tyrosine kinase receptor that belongs to the ErbB family. It is also known as HER2/Neu. It is located on chromosome 17q12.

Target description

Essential component of a neuregulin-receptor complex, although neuregulins do not interact with it alone. GP30 is a potential ligand for this receptor. Not activated by EGF, TGF-alpha and amphiregulin.
