Immunoglobulin G (IgG) mainly helps in immune defense. It participates in hypersensitivity type II and type III. IgG helps in opsonization, complement fixation and antibody dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity.

General description
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is a widely expressed serum antibody. An immunoglobulin has two heavy chains and two light chains connected by disulfide bond. It is a glycoprotein and a major class of immunoglobulin. Rat has five immunoglobulin classes- IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD and IgGE. IgG is further divided as- IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b and IgG2c.

Reconstitute with 1.0 mL deionized water (or equivalent).
Specificity
This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Rat IgG coupled to agarose. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against Anti-Peroxidase, Anti-Goat Serum, Rat IgG, Rat IgG F(c) and Rat Serum. No reaction was observed against Rat IgG F(ab’;)2.
