Biochem/physiol Actions

Zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) controls the expression of E-cadherin as a repressor. It plays an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis. Epigenetic suppression of ZEB1 might be a useful tool for overcoming drug resistance in human breast cancer. Mutations in this gene are associated with posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy and Fuchs′ endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD6).

General description

Zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) is an EMT (epithelial-mesenchymal transition) transcription factor. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 10p11.2.

Immunogen

ZEB1 antibody was raised against a 15 amino acid peptide near the center of human ZEB1.The immunogen is located within amino acids 530 - 580 of ZEB1.

The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3500514.
