Biochem/physiol Actions
Integrin α M (ITGAM) is involved in cell activation, chemotaxis, cytotoxicity and phagocytosis. It modulates the interaction of leukemic cells with microenvironment by binding inactivated complement component 3b (iC3b), intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM), fibrinogen, beta-glukanes, coagulation factor X etc. ITGAM is considered as a marker for myeloid-derived suppressor cells that participates in restraining antitumor immunity of the host and inducing the enlargement and drug-resistance of hematological malignant cells. D11b integrin contributes to ICAM-1-dependent AIDP patient mononuclear leukocyte adhesion.
