PDL-1 (programmed cell death 1 ligand 1) helps to clear sudden HPV (human papilloma virus) infections. It prevents the multiplication and adherence of T-cell and production of cytokine. It also controls the activities of T-cells in peripheral tissues.

General description
PDL-1 (programmed cell death 1 ligand 1) is a cell surface protein, that is also known as B7-H1 (B7 homolog 1), coded by CD274 (cluster of differentiation 274) gene. It is located on chromosome 9p24.1. It is present on placental cells, vascular endothelial cells, liver cells, epithelial cells, mesenchymal stem cells, B cells, T cells, dendritic cells and macrophages. It is also expressed in various tumor types like melanoma, glioblastoma, cancers in the lung, kidney, head, neck, stomach, colon, pancreas, breast, cervix and ovary.
