PA is also involved in membrane biogenesis. It is also implicated in several cellular processes such as, membrane trafficking, signal transduction, cytoskeletal rearrangement and secretion.

General description

1,2-dimyristoyl-d54-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (sodium salt) (14:0 PA-d54) is a deuterated phosphatidic acid in which 54 protons of dimyristoyl are replaced by deuterium isotope. Phosphatidic acid (PA) is a membrane phospholipid.
