Application
17:0 PA has been used as an internal standard for BXD liver samples/lipidomics analysis and as an internal standard for BXD plasma sample analysis. It may be used as a component in internal standard mix to spike the brain tissue homogenate.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Phosphatidic acid (PA) serves as a lipid messenger. It can enhance the production of muscle protein. PA can also serve as a signaling lipid. It plays a key role in mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling.
General description
Phosphatidic acid (PA), a phospholipid is a minor component of the phospholipid pool. It is made up of two fatty acids and a phosphate group and are covalently attached with the help of ester linkage to a glycerol molecule. PA is an important constituent of cell membranes.
