General description
The 28-amino acid n-octanoylated (at ser3) natural peptidyl ligand for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor 1a (GHSR1a). Ghrelin is secreted predominantly in the stomach and stimulates growth hormone release from the pituitary gland.
