Interleukin 2 receptor alpha (IL2RA) combines with a tri-molecular complex to exhibit a high-affinity receptor for IL-2. Activated immune cellsrelease IL2RA and produce soluble(sIL2RA). Higher circulating levels of sIL2RA leads to multiple sclerosis (MS) disease activities. IL2RA initiates T cell proliferation in an autocrine and paracrine manner. Elevated levels of IL-2R is detected in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)infected patients.
