Application
Anti-LXN antibody produced in chicken is suitable for indirect ELISA and western blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Latexin (LXN) is a negative regulator of hematopoietic stem cell and may exert its tumor-suppressive function by altering the stem cell-like properties of melanoma cells. Its expression is reduced in human gastric cancers compared with their normal control tissues. LXN expression may have involvement in tumor suppression. It may have clinical efficacy in the treatment of malignancies.
General description
LXN (latexin) is the human homologue of endogenous inhibitor of carboxypeptidase A found in rat. It was initially recognized as a neural marker in developing mammalian brain, of the lateral neocortex. This protein is composed of 222 amino acids. An α-helix links two subdomains that comprise the protein. It has high structural homology to TIG1 (tazarotene-induced gene 1).
