Application
Heparin sodium salt from porcine intestinal mucosa has been supplemented in the medium prepared for insemination of oocytes with spermatozoa. It has been used to check the effect of heparin on FGF21 (fibroblast growth factor 21) signaling.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Heparin is mainly responsible for the delay in the coagulation of blood. It enhances the antithrombin-mediated inactivation of proteases in the coagulation pathway.
