Differential expression of INHBE in human endometrial tissue plays an important role in endometrial maturation and blastocyst implantation. The protein is a hepatokine linked to hepatic gene expression. It is associated with insulin resistance and body mass index in humans. The protein expression in liver is stimulated by insulin. It is involved in glucose metabolism.
