Biochem/physiol Actions

CXCL13 (C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 13 ) contributes to the process of tumorigenesis in breast cancer, neuronal cancer and prostatic cancer. CXCL13 serves as an important marker for Lyme neuroborreliosis. CXCL13 mediates B-cell migration,survival, and maturation. CXCL13 is a ligand for CXCR5 and possesses immune function such as antibody production.

General description

The CXCL13 (C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 13 ) gene codes for a CXC subtype of the chemokine superfamily and it is also known as B cell-attracting chemokine 1. The CXCL13 gene is mapped to human chromosome 4q21.1.
