Biochem/physiol Actions

Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) is part of the cytokine family. It signals through the glycoprotein 130 and LIF receptor β subunit. The protein has neuroprotective effects and activates astrocytes. CNTF also has a role in the differentiation of neural stem cells and is involved in neurotransmitter synthesis.

General description

The Human CNTF ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human CNTF in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.
