BTEX/MTBE in Soil - PT is a soil/hazardous waste proficiency testing material, suitable for testing the BTEX/MTBE in soil samples.Our soil PT samples behave as real samples; and, unless there is no alternative, are not simply spikes added to a blank soil. Preparation Note

DescriptionThe PT sample size provided is 33 g of soil. The minimum recommended sample size is 5 g.The soil has been chemically synthesized with 6 mL of methanol to minimize degradation of the sample.The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh.This sample has been prepared with an apparent headspace. Sample Preparation Mix and sample at 4 °C to minimize volatilization of the contents. Do not bring the sample to room temperature prior to sampling. The sample is a soil containing BTEX to be extracted and analyzed using the methods for which you are seeking accreditation. In the PT portal, list the extraction technique and determinative method used for the analysis of the sample. Report on a wet weight basis.
