The DrySpot™ Legionella Latex Test is a latex agglutination test for the identification of Legionella species grown on plate media from patients with suspected legionellosis or from environmental sources. The DrySpot™ Legionella Latex Test allows separate identification of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1, serogroups 2 to 14 and seven other Legionella species that have been implicated in human disease.
- Use this dry latex agglutination test for the identification of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 isolated either from patients with suspected legionellosis or from environmental sources
- Blue latex particles sensitised with specific rabbit antibody are dried onto the test card, these react with Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 antigen to form agglutination in the test reaction area
- Blue latex particles sensitised with non-reactive rabbit globulins are dried onto the test card to create the control reaction area
- Kit includes 20 reaction cards (3 tests/card, 60 tests total), positive control, negative control, phosphate buffered saline, mixing paddles, and pouch clips
