Egg Yolk Emulsion, a stabilised emulsion of egg yolk emulsion which can be used as a supplement to culture media. It can be aseptically added to base culture media and used in pre-poured agar plates for the detection of Clostridium, Bacillus and Staphylococcus species by their lipase activity.
20% Egg yolk tellurite emulsion is typically used as an additive for Baird Parker Agar and can be added to Baird Parker Agar Base (SGL Product Code 3008) to form the final prepared medium. The egg yolk tellurite permits the detection of microbial lecithinase activity and
tellurite reduction.
Egg yolk emulsion is available in various fill volumes. Shelf life of 24 months from manufacture.
