Columbia agar base with 7% horse blood and Gardnerella supplement is a selective medium for the isolation of Gardnerella vaginalis from clinical samples. Based on Columbia agar the medium is enriched with 7% horse blood and made selective by the addition of colistin and nalidixic acid to suppress other bacteria.
