Lucifer yellow CH has been used to stain nerve cells and to demonstrate electrical coupling between hamster oocytes and cumulous cells during meiotic maturation in vivo and in vitro.

A highly fluorescent dye, useful in marking nerve cells.

General description

Lucifer Yellow CH is the hydrazine (-NH-CO-NH-NH2) form of the dye compared to Lucifer Yellow VS, which is the vinyl sulfone (-Ph-SO2-CH=CH2) form.
