- Ideal for: clinically significant samples offering extra absorbency and suitable for DNA or PCR techniques
- Sterilisation method: gamma irradiation to achieve a SAL of 10-6
- Applicable standards: CE marked: invasive sampling - Class IIa medical device
- Known limitations:
- Do not reuse: single use device that is not suitable for re-work or reuse
- Certain viruses and microorganisms require immediate transfer to prevent cell stress or no recovery
- Do not use if the outer packaging or seal shows signs of damage or incomplete
- Do not use if there is no product identification or LOT number present on pouch
- Do not use if LOT number is illegible or device is past expiry date
- Do not use if swab bud or shaft appears damaged or broken
- Applying excessive pressure during use may lead to failure of the shaft
