The Astell AMB Classic Benchtop Autoclave provides a compact and versatile steriliser for a wide range of autoclavable materials. While not able to process porous and fabric wrapped materials – unlike the tabletop Astell AMB Ecofill Dry autoclave - the Classic Benchtop can sterilise most other items used in the modern laboratory, including glassware, instruments, liquids, media, and simple discard and waste as standard, and when upgraded with an optional vacuum and CAT III filter, complex waste and discard, and Containment Level 3 (CL3)/BioSafety Level 3 (BSL3) materials.
An array of energy-saving features makes the AMB Classic series highly energy-efficient front-loading autoclave machines. By minimising the volume of water heated to generate steam to a single litre and utilising a powerful 2.3kW or 2.645kW water heater to rapidly generate steam, these devices are designed to minimise energy loss and processing times. The Astell Control Computer equipped in the AMB Classic benchtop autoclave provides further energy saving through optimising the use of the steam steriliser’s hardware. The touchscreen system, which is equipped to all Astell autoclaves provides the tabletop Autoclaves with the same advanced, customisable functionality that is found on larger devices, ensuring the devices hardware can be adapted to based on situational requirements. Equipped with an array of commonly utilised sterilisation cycles, the controller can easily updated with up to 50 sterilisation cycle programs via the intuitive touchscreen interface.
The AMB Classic Benchtop is part of the Astell Plug and Play autoclave range. This range of steam sterilisers makes installation of the autoclave into a laboratory, sterilisation room, central sterile services department or Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), or Sterile Processing Department (SPD) easy. Requiring no plumbed water supply or drain outlet, and only a domestic energy supply, installation is simple — the unit just needs to be placed near to a domestic plug socket on a flat surface like a table or workbench. The Classic series are filled with water by pouring directly into the chamber, while wastewater and condensate leaves the rear of the device to fill a condensate bottle.
