Lectin mannose binding 2-like (LMAN2L) is a cargo receptor in the endoplasmic reticulum which has a role in glycoprotein transport. It may be involved in targeting folded glycoproteins to the Golgi and misfolded glycoproteins to the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. LMAN2L has been associated with bipolar disorder.
General description
Lectin mannose binding 2-like (LMAN2L) is a high-mannose type I membrane glycoprotein which is part of the L-type lectin family. It is expressed in many tissues. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 2q11.2. Mouse polyclonal antibody raised against a full-length human LMAN2L protein.
