Anti-Rubisco (plant) antibody produced in chicken has been used to detect Ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) by immunoblotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) is involved in catalyzing the addition of CO₂ to ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate (RuBP). It is involved in the first step of photosynthesis, that results in the net gain of atmospheric CO₂ to the biosphere. Rubisco possesses oxygenase activity. Mutation of rubisco influences photorespiration and plant growth.
