Application
Anti-EXOSC4 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in various immunochemical techniques including immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence.
Biochem/physiol Actions
EXOSC4 (exosome component 4) is a core component of the exosome complex and is required for the stability of the complex. The exosome complex exhibits 3′-5′ exoribonuclease function. EXOSC4 lacks ribonuclease activity but is involved in mRNA turnover.

General description
Exosome Component 4 (EXOSC4), also known as RNA-processing protein 41 (RRP41), is a non-catalytic component of the eukaryotic RNA exosome. The eukaryotic exosome is a 400kDa complex composed of a nine subunit catalytically inert core provides structural support and facilitates substrate recognition, and two associated catalytic subunits.
The gene EXOSC4 (exosome component 4) is mapped to human chromosome 8q24.3. The encoded protein is present in the cytoplasm as well as nucleus and has a RNase pleckstrin homology (PH) domain.
Immunogen
peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region of human EXCSC4, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence differs by one amino acid in mouse and rat.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
