Glutamate decarboxylase 2 (GAD2) is an isoform of glutamate decarboxylase, which is involved in the synthesis of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). GAD2 is an auto-antigen in type I diabetes and has been shown to have a role in gastric cancer.

General description
Glutamate decarboxylase 2 (GAD2) is a 65kDa protein expressed in β-cells. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 10p12.1.
Immunogen
Peptide with sequence C-TLEDNEERMSRLSK from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_000809.1.
Physical form
Supplied at 0.5 mg/mL in Tris saline with 0.02% sodium azide and 0.5% bovine serum albumin.
