Diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (DGAT2) is involved in the final step of triacylglycerol biosynthesis. It esterifies diacylglycerol to triacylglycerol. Overexpression of the protein has been associated with hepatic steatosis.

General description

Diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (DGAT2) possesses one or two transmembrane domains and the amino- and carboxyl-terminal regions face the cytosol. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 11q13.5 and has eight exons.

Peptide with sequence C-KLEHPTQQDIDLYH from the internal region (near the C Terminus) of the protein sequence according to NP_115953.2.
