ARHGEF10 (Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor 10) works as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for RhoA, RhoB and RhoC. It is involved in atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and mutation in ARHGEF10 is associated with increased risk of atherothrombotic stroke. Mutation in ARFGEF10 is also linked with slowed nerve conduction velocities and thin myelination of peripheral nerves.

Rho GTPases play a fundamental role in numerous cellular processes that are initiated by extracellular stimuli that work through G protein coupled receptors. The encoded protein may form complex with G proteins and stimulate Rho-dependent signals. (provided by RefSeq)
