Application

Studied for its use as a long-lived porous cathode in molten carbonate fuel cells.

LiFeO₂ can be used as a non-toxic cathode material with a specific capacity of ~120 mAhg⁻¹ at a rate of 100 mAg⁻¹. It can further be used in the fabrication of lithium-ion batteries and rechargeable batteries.
